« Baron Joostens will revitalize the area »
15 avril 2016
Baron Joostens is a new residential project by CONIX RDBM Architects located in Antwerp, near the Plantin en Moretuslei and the central station. It consists of 27 apartments and will revitalize the area, says project developer Antvest in the newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen.
The project will be built on a piece of wasteland in Baron Joostensstraat. It combines the best of two worlds: closely linked to the city yet in green area, since AG VESPA is developing a green park across the street. The builing itself is six levels high containing 27 apartemts which account to approximately 2.200 m2 in total. Inhabitants can benefit from their own terraces, parking space and a communal patio. The ground level will be used for commercial activities.
The architecture takes into account the architectural heritage and the appearance of the adjacent buildings. The building is vertically marked and uses qualitative materials such as a creamy brick and travertine, which is a limestone, for the façade. It sets apart yet integrates in the surroundigs. The large windows, double in height, result in a pleasant living area.
The construction works are set to begin in august this year and will end in 2018.
