Building for the future with Schools of Tomorrow12 May 2014
Via a huge investment project ‘Schools of Tomorrow’, the Flemish Government wants to cope with the constant increasing of the amount of students. By the end of 2017, eight schools will be constructed or renovated in Antwerp. The government aims at a total of 165 new schools in whole Flanders.
CONIX RDBM Architects now has five schools (of tomorrow) in its project portfolio. Recently one of those projects got covered in the newspaper De Gazet van Antwerpen (link below).
Located in Berchem, nearby Antwerp, the project ‘Onze-Lieve Vrouwinstituut’ comprises the construction of a school building for secondary education and a sports hall for secondary, primary and nursery education. The new school will consist of 11 classrooms, a PC-room, a cafeteria and a study area. A schoolyard of 750 square meters will envelop the construction.
