Debate: Sowing and harvesting materials

CONIX RDBM Architects and CONIX COOL discussed in a debate for ‘De 3de long’ the circular CASA CONIX.

Sowing and harvesting materials. And then designing. Circular construction: vision and interior of CONIX RDBM Architects. Panel discussion with Jorden Goossenaerts, Frederik Jacobs and Nancy Cool (CONIX COOL INTERIOR). Geert Vyncke is acting as moderator.

Based on CASA CONIX’s circular interior ‘case’, they discuss their architectural vision of circular construction. In the transition from linear to circular economy (interior) architects have to start designing differently. Circular construction involves a constant search for design possibilities and the recuperation of ideas from the past. It’s about searching for the DNA of materials and concepts to allow an evolution towards the future based on this. To design in a circular economy, you have to take into account the risks of uselessness and unavailability.
