Sant’Antimo: the synthesis of modern and Tuscan architecture
04 mars 2016
Since its foundation, CONIX RDBM Architects has had a profound interest in Italy, resulting among others in the inspiring renovation of the remains of an old Tuscan Farm in Siena, named Podere Ferranesi. Nowadays a new Italian project, also located in Tuscany (Siena), sees the light: the rebuilding and new construction of a farm into a modern house with great respect to the Tuscan architecture. Site delivery is scheduled July 2017.
The construction site is located at a street called Podere Sant’ Antimo, hence the name of the project, Sant’Animo. The new farm, with a surface area of approximately 410m2 – attic and cellar non included -, will consist of one large living area containing three bedrooms for up to six persons. Two smaller units contain two double rooms which will be used for rental purposes. An extra facility will be the swimming pool with pool house.
Our approach to this new assignment is finding a well balanced mix of contemporary and Tuscan architecture. The interior will be minimalistic, providing all the necessary comfort, combined with the classical architecture characteristic of the local landscape in Tuscany. Our aim is to create some sort of (dream)house where one can enjoy nature, history and culture throughout the whole year.
The construction process started in January and is now at full speed. We’ve scheduled the provisionary site delivery in December 2016, followed by the permanent one in July 2017.
During that time we’ll keep you up to date and regularly post photos of our progress on Facebook. For now make sure to check the first photos of the construction and several 3D-images.
